What so you think about Chuck Baird, the Alaskan Pioneer's, adventure? What adventure would you like to complete in your lifetime?

I don't understand why he would want to challenge himself this way, so I think it's silly. Are there any other reasons why he would want to do this, besides that he wants to challenge himself? I had other reasons in mind on why he would want to do it. My reasons were maybe one of his ancestors did it so he wanted to see what it felt like. My other reason was just out of curiosity. Could those be any other reasons? I also just thought of another reason why he would want to do it, that reason is he could just want to do it for fun. If I could just figure out if there were any other reasons, I would probably like it better. That's why I think it's silly.

I think I would like to hike the Nile river or go around the world. I would like to see what the Nile looks like. Walking around the Nile will also give me the feeling of what it feels like. I probably wouldn't be able to do this because of dieing because of crocodiles.
I would also like to explore all of the continents. The places I would like to visit the most are Paris,Ontario, The Great Wall of China, Japan, Europe, and Hawaii. I would need alot of money to do this. I would need money for cruises, gas, airplanes, and shopping for souvenirs. Another place I would like to visit is Puerto Rico. I would have to learn different languages to do this, so I can speak to people in different countries.

Hi Heather,
Thanks for your thoughts about what Chuck is doing! There are people out there who are just plain "daredevils" and do risky things just to try them... and it definitely can seem silly to the rest of us!

I think you are right, though, Chuck did talk about the first pioneers who came to Alaska, and that they did have to do what he is trying to do, and he did want to see what that was like. Even though he is not originally from Alaska, he probably moved there, learned the history, and was inspired by those who first moved there. Maybe he even asked himself "Why would they do that? What would it have been like?!"

I would love to explore all the continents too! I was recently working on a "Passport to the World" assignment for a summer program, and I thought the same thing -- I would love to make a mission to go to all seven continents in my life! The hardest one to go to would be Antarctica.

The Nile river would be a great exploration! For thousands of miles down the Nile there are all sorts of ancient Egyptian settlements! Have you ever tried Google Earth? It is a free interactive globe, and there are some great views to be seen of the Nile river.

Thanks for following, Heather, I look forward to seeing your other assignments for this! And I hope you meet lots of other kids who are following along with the Alaskan Pioneer too!

Well, I think he's just following his dreams, other then getting mauled by a bear.
I think he took a little too many tighty-whiteys though, hah. And if he's one of those, uh,
gassy types, those beans are going to become gas. And by the way the goat's name is...
THOR.

I like animals, so what I would like to do is to travel the earth looking for animals that have not been scientifically discovered yet, or cryptids as I like to call them. But if you guys disagree
just tell me
